    Hey Rod,
I guess you should be approaching the Salmo-Creston Pass today, or at least Creston itself. I sent along the pix of your stopover in Cranbrook to Paul’s Drift Communications email address. It was good to see you three. We enjoyed your visit.
(PS = easy on the baking soda, eh)

Hey Robert, It was good to talk to you! I’m looking forward to visiting you. It’s been about half my life since I came out for a cranbrook visit. We’ve got lots to catch up on. Jam Night sounds like a good idea too!

    Hey Mike Lane!
Good to hear from you buddy! hope everything is alright back there. I’m doing swell. Working hard and gettin’ it done. I miss you and the rest of the Lanes, we’ll have to get together when I get home.

    Cheers!

    Rod

  4. Mike Lane and family says:

Hey man, it.s Mike Lane just wanted to know how things are going. I hope you keep going and make your mark on history, or this would have been for nothing. I know you are about to come to the climax of your journy, walking through rocky mountains is cold and all the scary animals out there.Try and not get eating up by a scary bear or rabbit. Anyway’s pal keep posting your travels on the computer so the Lane family knows how things are going. Talk to you soon and we miss you. Big Mike

  5. Uncle Robert says:

    Rod,
Call me or email me and let me know where you are at. I am assuming that you are in the Crowsnwst Pass or approaching Sparwood. I tried calling your cell number but it goes to voice mail and that box is always full.

Hey, there is an “open mike” venue here in Cranbrook called Finnegan’s Wake Sports Pub And Grill. They have open mike nights on Fridays and Saturdays, I believe.

Also, watch the highway between Fernie and Elko because there’s hardly any shoulder through that stretch.
Keep an eye open for Rocky Mountain Sheep or Elk. Talk to you soon.

  6. Glen Owen says:

I could only imagine that you’ve experienced more in the past 5 months than some people in years. People appreciate what you guys are doing, how hard it must be on the body and mind to put yourself through challenging enviroments/situations time and time again. I know deep down inside that everything you guys are fighting for is intended for the wellbeing of all of us and for this world we call home. I’m sure if the people/charities who will benifit from the awareness/financial support could directly say thank you they would with smiles and open arms. I love you guys and understand that we all have our own road that we must walk at parts in our lives. I look forward to being in your presence again.

  7. Rod Standish says:

Thanks Todd, I’ve been talking with a number of people since the “incident,” and it seems like most of them have it in perspective. It’s real easy to jump down someones throat when they make a mistake. Paul did what he felt he had to. I wish he would’ve asked me, but what’s done is done.

Water under the bridge, let bygones be bygones, forgive and forget, there’s no use crying over spilled milk, etc.

In the words of the Red Hot Chili Peppers:

“It’s better to regret something you did than something you didn’t do.”

That goes for all of us. That’s why I’m doing what I’m doing in the first place, that’s why he did what he did, and I sincerely hope that’s what motivates you people out there too.

Act out of love and not out of fear.

    Cheers,

    Roderick Standish II

Its really quite amazing how the R.I.P video gathered the most attention and comments of any other video since the conception of Drift.com. And now funds are coming in.

Lets face it, The guys are tired, hungry, cold; there in the trenches day after day. You know it’s easy to take 2 mins of your life and leave a comment, but to actually experience what these guys are going through – you’d probably resort to desperate tactics too.

Maybe it wasn’t the smartest thing to do, maybe it caused stress to the family, but what’s the big picture here? Rods not dead and National attention is on it’s way – it’s working!!!

You guys have an ENORMOUS fan base here!!! Rod the way your handling this is commendable and you’re drive and passion is going to make this happen.

Before you judge the man who posted the video here’s something to think about :

Paul’s not doing this for financial gain, he’s not taken 5 months out of his life living on virtually nothing for fame. Paul is here to support Rod in anyway he can and after viewing this latest video it seems to me that these boys are tighter than ever.

Keep rocking guys!!! Were you’re biggest fans

    Lots of love……
