In addition to the day four video, we thought it only appropriate to express our gratitude to the Lattie family for everything they did for us, their kindness, their love, support and generosity. So here we are:

Mike:
Dear The Lattie Family,

I personally wanted to thank each of you for the kindness and love that you shared during our impromptu visit to Five Islands, Nova Scotia. I can honestly say I’ve never experienced anything like that from a stranger before, and it was rather refreshing and beautiful to see that there are people out there that are willing to lend a hand, and share their love and passion for life.

I can honestly say that I’m much better off than I was before having met each of you. As we continue our journey across Canada I sincerely hope that I can take some of that kindness and love that you shared with us and keep it with me, and help to share it with others. Each of you are so wealthy in every way that counts. So thank you, with all my heart thank you very much and I do hope that we meet again.

Rod:
Dear Robert,

I just wanted to extend my thanks to you and your beautiful family for the many kindnesses you showed us while we were enjoying your hospitality. I will carry the thought of your support with me for the duration of my walk and have already found it to be a great motivation and comfort while I am walking.

You and your family are truly beautiful people from a truly beautiful part of the country. Your generosity is a profound confirmation that I am doing the best thing that I could do with my energy and my time.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Good morning. When I watched the new video updates and, especially when we got to meet Robert the tow truck man, I was again moved by the generosity of strangers. In a world overflowing with our selfishness it is so heartening to witness such selflessness. Having been in somewhat similar circumstances, as an oblivious young man, the only advice I can currently muster is to remember to do for others as you see them doing for you. Do some dishes, make up beds, chop them some firewood, etc. Welcome is as thanks does.

Mahalo Rod. Thanks for the inspiration.

Five Islands, Nova Scotia – what a beautiful place to live! Always great choices of songs to put with the videos, guys. Thanks for the phone call, Rod. Love you.
